Juveniles face charges after deadly accident

On Behalf of | Mar 30, 2024 | Motor Vehicle Accidents

Most motorists in Tennessee are aware of the dangers and risks of driving these days. Yet, it seems that far too many people take driving for granted and are not as careful as they should be behind the wheel. Losing focus for just a split second while driving is more than enough time for a serious or deadly motor vehicle accident to happen.

Tragic crash

Recently in Alcoa, a two-vehicle accident left one woman dead and two juveniles facing serious charges. The crash happened just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Hall Road and East Lincoln Road. According to police reports, a pickup truck was headed west on East Lincoln Road when it ran a red light and hit a sedan that was traveling south on Hall Road.

Authorities said the driver of the sedan was critically injured and transported to an area hospital where, tragically, she died a short time later. Reportedly, the driver and passenger of the pickup truck fled the scene but were apprehended by law enforcement a short time later. Reportedly, they were both juveniles. Police said they were charged with criminal homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a fatality and other serious charges.

There is help available

When drivers get behind the wheel, arriving safely at their destination should be the top priority. Unfortunately, the actions of other drivers on the road are unpredictable. Legal assistance is available for those in Tennessee who have suffered injuries or the loss of an immediate family member in an accident caused by the negligence of another party. By consulting an experienced attorney and filing a claim, victims and families could obtain rightful monetary damages.
